But one anniversary which is, in its own way, just as significant is 35 years of the Golf GTI, an anniversary being marked with the VW Golf GTI Edition 35, which hits UK showrooms this week after its début at Worthersee in May. The original Golf GTI was a revelation; light, nimble, fun and fast it was an instant hit – the first of the proper hot-hatches.
The redesigned 2012 Subaru Impreza made its debut in New York on Wednesday with a more refined look, a longer wheelbase and a new four-cylinder engine. Porsche will recall selected 2012 911 Carrera S models to repair a problem with a fuel line. The company says interference between a coolant line and the fuel line might cause the fuel line to disconnect at a quick connector. If the fuel line becomes disconnected, a leak might occur, leading to misfiring or stalling.
